F & M Online allows you to:

Account Alerts

The Account Alerts tool will quickly notify you about transactions happening on your accounts. Account alerts messages your cell phone or email address. Account Alerts allows you to create alerts:

  • For a low balance
  • When a specific check posts to your account
  • When deposits or withdrawals posts to your account

The withdrawal alert is a great way to spot unusual activity on your account such as unauthorized or fraudulent transactions.

To set up Account Alerts:

  1. Log into your F&M Online Banking
  2. Click on the "Create Account Alerts" tab
  3. Select either FMSB Checking or Savings Alerts
  4. Click on "Setup New Alert"
  5. Select the category and type of alert you want to setup from the drop-down boxes, then click "next"
  6. Under "Send to", select e-mail, then enter either your e-mail address for email alerts or your cell phone number PLUS @ your mobile providers address for text alerts

Mobile Banking

Mobile banking is a secure, quick way to manage your personal accounts, pay bills and save time all from your phone. Whether standing in line at a supermarket or sitting at the beach you can do your banking. *

  • View account balances and recent transaction history
  • Bill Pay and Bill Pay Plus allow you to pay bills right from your phone
  • Pay Other People (PopMoney) ($.50 per transfer)

Downloadable Apps for your phone

On your device, open Googleplay or AppStore and search for TouchBanking.

Download App TouchBanking  to your phone.

IMPORTANT! After you download the TouchBanking application, you will need to enter this App Code to activate it.


Then you will enter your USER NAME, answer your security question, then enter your password.

You must be an Online Banking customer before you can sign up for Mobile Banking. If you are currently not an Online Banking customer, please contact a customer service representative. They will be happy to assist you.

Mobile Deposit

  • Endorse and write 'F&M Mobile Deposit' on the back of the check and check the box indicating for mobile/remote deposit if available.  ***Deposits that are not endorsed with F&M Mobile Deposit will be rejected**
  • Log into mobile banking and select 'Deposit' at the bottom of the screen.
  • Select the account in which you would like to deposit.
  • Input the check amount and take a picture of the front and back of the check.  Have the check line up within the 4 corner markers on the screen.  A dark color background helps.
  •  If your deposit is rejected, try retaking  pictures of the front and back of the check and resubmit.
  •  If your images are approved, your deposit will be pending and you will receive a green checkmark

Farmers & Merchants State Bank reviews all pending deposits:

  •  When your deposit is accepted, it will show as a pending transaction and will be posted the next business day.
  •  If your deposit is rejected, Farmers & Merchants State Bank will notify you.

Mobile Deposits must be made by 4:00PM CST

Mobile deposit limits:

  • $1,500 item limit
  • $1,500 daily limit
  • Other limits may apply

Non-eligible checks:

  • Checks payable to others (even if endorsed over to you); 2 party checks are not allowed
  • Demand drafts or remotely created checks (i.e. checks lacking the original signature of the person authorizing the check)
  • Substitute checks (i.e. paper checks created from an electronic image)
  • Checks or items containing obvious alteration to any of the fields on the front of the check or authorized by the owner of the account on which the check or item is drawn or are irregular in any way (i.e. where the numerical and written amounts are different)
  • Checks that have been previously returned unpaid for any reason
  • Checks that are postdated or more than six (6) months old
  • Checks drawn on a foreign financial institution or payable in foreign currency
  • Checks you suspect may be fraudulent or not properly authorized
  • Checks that exceed the maximum daily limit set forth above
  • Checks which are otherwise not acceptable under the terms of your account

Hours of operation and processing cut-off hours

The service can be utilized by you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, except when the service is unavailable due to needed maintenance or system outages.  Farmers & Merchants State Bank is not responsible for the unavailability of the service or any damages that may result from its unavailability. 

Images of eligible checks and associated deposit information received for processing by Farmers & Merchants State Bank before 4:00pm CST, on a business day will be processed on that business day.  Images of eligible checks and associated deposit information received for processing by F&M Bank after 4:00pm CST on a business day or on a Saturday, Sunday or bank holiday, will be processed on the next business day.

Availability of funds

Our policy is to make funds from your mobile deposit available to you on the first business day after the day we receive your deposit. Once they are available, you can withdraw the funds in cash and we will use the funds to pay checks that you have written.

Longer delays may apply

In some cases, we will not make all of the funds that you deposit by check available to you on the first business day after the day of your deposit.  Depending on the type of the check you deposit, funds may not be available until the second business day after the day of your deposit.  However, the first $200 of your deposits may be available on the first business day.
